Multi-Age Classrooms

Multi-Age Family Forum

It is with great excitement that we share with you the Multi-Age Classroom (MAC) opportunity at Hayshire for the 2018-19 school year. We are implementing this option in order to provide families with additional choices in their child’s education. The teachers for the Multi-Age classrooms will be Mrs. Zimmerman and Mrs. Lanni.

The Multi-Age Classrooms are made up of second and third grade learners. The second graders will stay with the classroom for two years. Our vision includes:

  • Two classroom spaces but both teachers will work with the learners throughout the year
  • Customized instruction that meets the needs of all the learners
  • Integrated learning approach (science, social studies and health will be integrated with language arts and math)
  • Hands-on, Project- Based Learning used throughout the year
  • Encouragement of student leadership and mentorship
  • Focus on problem solving, goal setting, and teamwork

Current first and second grade families can apply now.

Welcome to
Hayshire Elementary School

The Hayshire Elementary School provides a child-centered educational program for its six hundred students in grades K-3. There is a strong emphasis on the building of communication skills throughout the curriculum. The language arts program focuses on meeting the individual needs of all students with all children learning to read and write successfully. Building basic skills of mathematics and problem solving is fundamental at Hayshire Elementary School. Developing a love of learning is evident throughout the curriculum.
