Reading Activities

Sight words: Have your child practice their sight words. Reading these words quickly will help them become more confident in their reading.

Retelling practice: After reading a story to your child or with them talk about the who the characters are in the story, who is their favorite, or favorite part. Tell them about your favorite part.

Fluency practice: Using just a short part of a story or several sentences time your child reading it, then repeat the sentence several times and see if they can beat their time from the first reading.
