To
register a student who is new to the Central York School District,
parents should make an appointment to meet with the appropriate
personnel at the school building in which the student will be enrolled.
If parents do not know which school their child will attend, they may
call the district Transportation Office at (717) 846-6789, ext. 1298.
Parents
of children who are entering Central York Middle School or Central York
High School will need to call and make an appointment with the school
guidance counselor.
Residency Verification
At
registration, parents will be asked to provide documentation that
establishes the new student's residency in Central York School District.
These documents could include:
- A Pennsylvania Driver's License
- A Pennsylvania Vehicle Registration
- A Pennsylvania Voter Registration Card
Parents
who are in the process of moving into the district should bring a copy
of a Purchase or Rental Agreement, or a rental receipt that verifies
intent to establish residency in the district.
Incoming Kindergarten students must be five (5) years of age and
incoming first grade students must be six (6) years of age by August 31
of the upcoming school year. Parents should bring their child's
immunization records and birth certificate.
Health/Immunization Requirements:
Children
entering school for the first time are required to have a physical
exam, dental exam, health history and record of immunizations. The
School Nurse will provide parents/guardians of new students with these
forms to be completed prior to the start of Kindergarten. Copies of
these forms are included below.
The following immunizations are
required for all students entering school for the first time.
Documentation from a health care provider is required:
- Diptheria/Tetanus
(DTP, DT or DTaP): At least four properly spaced doses are required.
The last dose must be on or after the child's fourth birthday.
- Polio (OPV or IPV): At least three properly spaced doses are required.
- Measles,
Mumps, Rubella (MMR): Two doses are required. The first does must have
been given on or after the child's first birthday.
- Hepatitis B: Three properly spaced doses are required. The third dose must have been given on or after six months of age.
- Chicken
Pox (Varicella): Two doses are required. The first dose must have been
given on or after the first birthday. Signed documentation, including
the month and year that your child had the chickenpox disease, is also
acceptable at this time.
