Central York School District is a suburban school district located to the north and east of the city of York, Pa. The District encompasses nearly 25 square miles of land in South Central Pennsylvania, including Manchester Township, North York Borough and parts of Springettsbury Township.
Central York School District has a rich history that spans more than 50 years and contains many proud traditions. Today, it has a growing population, and provides more than 5,000 students in Grades K-12 with an enriching and challenging educational experience.

The mission of Central York School District is to provide educational opportunities through which ALL students strive to achieve their full potential.


School Closing & Delay Information  

There are times each school year when Central York School District must close, delay or dismiss students early due to weather, facilities or emergency situations.

In the event of a closing, delay or early dismissal of students, please be aware of the following ways in which the District will communicate this news to parents and guardians of our students.

1)  BY PHONE: We will send a Automated Phone Notification to parents/guardian of all registered CYSD students as soon as the decision has been made to close or delay.

2)  Online: We will post information on our District website, our District Facebook Page and District Twitter Page.

3)  Email: We will email this information to ALL CYSD E-News Weekly subscribers.

4) TV/Radio/Newspaper: We will send this information to local media outlets and ask them to announce our closing/delay on their broadcasts.  Please note that there are times this information is reported inaccurately.  When in doubt, refer to the District website or Facebook page for the most accurate, timely information.
